Online License Renewals

Welcome to the Louisiana State Board of Nursing's Online Renewal System. You will find the link to the application below. The accepted forms of payment are by Visa, American Express, Master Card, and Discover credit cards. If you want to renew both your APRN and RN license click the Registered Nurse Renewal link and it will take you through both renewal applications. You must already have a renewed RN license in order to use the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Renewal Application. At the completion of the renewal application you will be presented with a receipt page which should be printed as proof of payment. You will also be sent a receipt to your email address on record. Please make sure we have your current email address. You may update your email address by visiting the My Profile section of the website. You will be able to verify your license online within 30 minutes of the completion of your online renewal application.

All Louisiana licensed registered nurses, except those initially licensed during 2012, must be in compliance with the C.E. requirements for relicensure in order to renew their license for 2013. For a list of complete CE requirements click here. If you are an APRN, you must send in evidence of current certification.

If you mark yes to any one of the disciplinary questions you will have 60 days from the completion of this online application to provide any/all information, documents, records, reports, evidence, and/or items as requested by the Board/Board staff or else your RN License shall be subject to immediate invalidation with change of status to inactive license and practice as a Registered Nurse will no longer be legal. Furthermore, falsification of this application constitutes a violation of the Nurse Practice Act and is subject to disciplinary action.

If licensee (RN and APRN) is serving in the active military service of the United States or any of its allies, all requirements for licensure are suspended. The on-line renewal process is available at this time but you must pay the fees online and you will be reimbursed upon receipt of your proof of active service and copy of the receipt page of the online renewal process.

Please make sure your email address is up to date as an email will be sent to your email address on record at the completion of your renewal. You may update your email address at the My Profile section of the website.
